Notes not moving #8

Closed ipante closed 2 years ago

I was looking for such a plugin for month ! Sadly, my notes aren't moved. I installed the plugin, enabled it and see the little [A] in my status bar, but when I add tags, nothing happens. I've tried to restart obsidian : it changes nothing. I'm on Mac OS Monterey 12.1.

Many thanks for your help !

Hi. If the note is in the root of the vault, try deleting the empty line in the Exclude Folder setting. An empty line in the Exclude folder means the root of the vault.

Problem solved ! Thank you VERY much !

Hum, it just worked two times. I have no auto move whatever the tag I add to my note. Exclude folder is empty. Any idea ?

If you don't mind, I'd like to see a screenshot of your setting and notes.

ipante commented 2 years ago

sure

The settings :

Capture d’écran 2022-02-14 à 13 44 00

The unmoved note :

Capture d’écran 2022-02-14 à 13 46 55

The unmoved note is at root level.

Doesn't it work if you type something in that note? Obsidian fires an event once every two seconds when you edit the text. Plugin work in response to that event, so there can be a lag. Another possibility is that if the vault is monitored by a real-time sync software like Dropbox, if the editing overlaps with the timing of the sync, the sync software might lock the note and prevent it from being moved.

Ok, problem solved : I had a blank space after my tag inside the settings. It works perfectly now. Many thanks for your reactivity and sorry for the inconvenience !

PS : in the settings, something in the UI could grab the attention of the user. Or even better : they could be automatically stripped away :)

I see. Thank you for the advice. I'll put it in my todo.
