Vivaldi start page won't show Group Speed Dial #283

Describe the bug Opening Vivaldi shows Vivaldi start page.

Steps To Reproduce I tried setting the start page to the extension and couldn't.

Expected behavior Vivaldi starting on my dials. It doesn't.

Hello, Sadly, this is a Vivaldi bug. So it's best to report it to them. I can confirm that when you set "Startup with" to "Homepage" or "Start Page", it will display only blank page. But if you set it to "Last Session" and you close the Vivaldi while speed dial is opened, it will be correctly reopened.

In any case, there nothing I can do to fix it. Startup behavior is completely controlled by the browser and extensions have no power to change that.

There have been many similar issues few years ago in Firefox and I had to file multiple reports till they fixed it.

Well, Opera has other issues... They don't allow overriding New tab page at all. They even removed all speed dial extensions and other extensions overriding new tab page from their official store. So you'll have to install it from Chrome store.

Oh, I have managed t install it and run it in Opera just fine, with override on the start page. On Iron Browser, too.
