Cloud Access vs Plugin #296

I open new FF on windows PC and 1/2 thumbnails are missing. Left for +2h and still not synced.

Really I don't need plugin to add/manage dials on remote PC's, I typically use 1 as a master and just want to see on other PC's... I go to others and want to bring up/click...

Seems this is an ongoing issue, but an easy solution would be a plugin for new tab to connect as a client to the cloud. So no edit, but more easily accessed. Not sure much is needed if links already work, should be a setting/browser. If all was working in some cases it may be desirable to have say Web Speed Dial vs Group Speed Dial. Perhaps a menu item to Group Speed-Dial in web interface.

Seems sync to cloud works great, sync from not. Maybe some sync options are needed in main plugin: Sync to, sync from, use cloud... A setting per/browser/pc...

Just food for thought...

Hello Mike, The sync. should be pretty fast and reliable, after last change the new data are uploaded to the cloud in 10 seconds. New thumbnails are uploaded maybe once an hour. And each device then pulls new data once an hour (and on browser start). Cloud dials page always loads whatever is there in the cloud (so should be fresh).

First, make sure you are logged in the same account on all devices. Visit your cloud account to see if it's the same one: https://group-speed-dial.fastaddons.com/

Also, if you want to sync. thumbnails, you should enable it on all devices - see Options page / Thumbnails / Enable automatic thumbnails synchronization.

Maybe I'm just not understanding the problem you are describing, please correct me if needed :)

Also note if I hover over Home and then synced it says synced at a much later time than primary PC. Perhaps something is wrong with cached local thumbnails where it thinks it's up-to-date and it's not? [image: ksnip_20231130-111852.png] Cloud is up-to-date.

  1. So I restarted external FF still not working.
  2. I added https://group-speed-dial.fastaddons.com/ as a dial
  3. 2min later Cloud updated.
  4. 5min later external FF updated, same issue.
  5. restarted external FF - but now all missing thumbnails appear, except for the new-one I added.
  6. +hr external still not updated with new thumbnail, even if FF restarted.

Was missing many thumbnails, now only the 1. So somehow adding the 1 caused a refresh but newly added/modified are not refreshing. The screen-shot I changed most to a static img/logo instead of a site generated img.

Hope this helps explain my issue... I guess I know how to resolve, so it's not urgent.

But I'm still not sure what's wrong :), let's clarify some things.

  1. on the external Firefox you are missing dials or thumbnails?
  2. is thumbnails synchronization enabled on all devices?
  3. when you click the "synced" label in the cloud icon, does it sync the missing one?
