Installation problems on Windwos10 #8

Dear all,

I am having trouble to install fastlmm on a Windows 10 machine with python36:

Thanks for using FaST-LMM!

You found a bug in the FaST-LMM documentation for Windows. (I do the primary development work on Windows, but most users are on Linux.)

Can you use an Anaconda 3.7 environment instead? (For example, with the commands “conda create --name py37b anaconda python=3.7” “activate py37b”). It should work then.

Over the next couple of days, I’ll fix the documentation. Thanks again for finding this problem and for using FaST-LMM.

  • Can you show me a little of the code in 02.py to see what is getting called? Was is just the “import fastlmm”?
  • When I install Anaconda 3.7, it uses Numpy version 1.17.0, but you have version 1.18.5. Can you create a new, new Anaconda 3.7 environment, confirm it is Numpy 1.17.0 and see if you get different results?
  • The error message links to https://numpy.org/devdocs/user/troubleshooting-importerror.html which mentions issues with PyCharms and Anaconda. Can you do a test without PyCharms, with a fresh Anaconda 3.7 environment?
  • Can you run “conda list” and send me the result (it produces a list of installed packages and their versions.)
