What feature or enhancement do you propose?
Develop a plugin/style that allows notifications to be displayed on a menubar 
space, possibly scrolling in a specific amount of space to avoid filling the 
bar.

What problem does it solve/What benefit does it provide?
It provides a much more subtle way of notifying the user without showing 
notifications on top of existing windows/applications.

It's also an excellent way of displaying the currently playing song when using 
a music application that uses growl. Combined with coalescing and 'Stay On 
Screen: Always', should be a new way of displaying notifications for many 
different uses.

The attached file displays an example of what the result could look like, 
displayed using Lucida Grande 12 as the font.
