The "popular searches" concepts are looked up in the DSG using something like: https://fathomnet.org/dsg/phylogeny/basic/<concept>. When that concept is not present in the DSG, the endpoint returns an error JSON payload and the frontend code hits an error. When this happens, placeholder images are populated which when clicked link to the image detail page with invalid image UUIDs.
