Can't move a mix to empty CH1 #726

I'm using either r789 or r790.

If CH1 is empty (no mix) I am unable to move another mix in to CH1.  If I 
select a mix to move it will move all the way up to the top of CH2 but will not 
go to CH1.

If I make a dummy entry in CH1, then I am able to move a mix from somewhere 
else.
