I had similar error, it was error in config.
@heihachi88 What kind of error in config?
Here's my working config:

Your config is wrong. Please verify your config in a JS verification tool before creating issues. You closed the config
object right after closing overlay thus breaking tabIcons and the plugins section below thus breaking the entire file. My preferred config validator is ESlint Demo since it is very configurable. Just make sure you enable node
under environment variable configs. See it here: https://eslint.org/demo/
This is your config fixed:
/* eslint-disable multiline-comment-style, capitalized-comments, line-comment-position, object-curly-newline*/
// Future versions of Hyper may add additional config options,

// See https://hyper.is#cfg for all currently supported options.

@Favna Oh it's just a JS syntax error? Weird, my IDE didn't catch anything. Thanks though, I'll take a look. That would certainly explain a lot. Thank you.
It should, though if anything the error appears to be thrown at the creation of the plugin window and in that case I cannot reproduce it since my overlay opens just fine. I'd need proper reproduce steps and an exact knowhow of your setup.
sure thing, thanks!
And my hyper.js is as follows:
