winetricks: DirectX November 2008 on Ubuntu 8.10 Wine 1.1.16 #36

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. sh winetricks directx
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Install fails with an error. DXError.log contains:

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
