Installing gdiplus prevents AutoCAD 2008 installation #90

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. winetricks dotnet20, gdiplus
2. start installing AutoCAD 2008
3. the installation begins and in the middle it stops and reports that
installation was failed

AutoCAD 2008 should install but instead I see summary window with
information that there was an error during installation.

I'm using winetricks 20091213 on Fedora 12 32 bit on Wine 1.1.36 (also Wine
1.1.33).

On earlier winetricks (I don't remember which version) I was able to
install AutoCAD 2008 successfully when gdiplus was installed before. Now I
have to install AutoCAD 2008 and after that I can install gdiplus without
problems.

I'm not sure what we can do here. Gdiplus was updated a while back, because the
old
download was no longer available. I suspect the change is on wine's end, but
they'd
likely consider it invalid, because AutoCad works fine with builtin gdiplus.
Really,
you should put each app in its own prefix, to avoid these sorts of problems...

"AutoCad works fine with builtin gdiplus"
It works but not so fine. Namely there is no icons in pop up menus when using
builtin
gdiplus.

"Really, you should put each app in its own prefix, to avoid these sorts of
problems..."
I always do so.

"I suspect the change is on wine's end, but they'd likely consider it invalid,"
So you advise not reporting that bug and be cautious with gdiplus installation.

Yeah, you probably need to change your recipe to use wine's gdiplus
during installation. Not much we can do about it on our end.
