I support the author of the question, I would very much like to be able, at the bootloader level, to change USB external hard drives to the SATA type for further mounting them in the OS. I have a beelink U59 and only one SATA connector, I would like to connect a second hard drive via USB 3.0 / 2.0 and then mount it as a storage location for video recordings. I would appreciate this opportunity
I'm trying too..
Ok, I'll study this possibility

Yes, this would be awesome. Would love to be able to upgrade my DSM 6.2 to 7.1, but all of my disks are USB.

However, I had an older version which I was able to change usbportcfg and internalportcfg, so I can use my external drives as internal storage, but I am trying this now with no results. Can anyone help me please! Thank you so much!
