Hi @fchristian1992. You have a good first cut at identifying levels of achievement in self-evaluation. Can you replace the x's with short blurbs explaining how you've demonstrated that you have achieved a given level and what you need to progress to the next level?

Following are a few areas for some of the categories that might help you identify some examples of your level of proficiency and how to move to the next level:

Industry Best Practices in addition to the new tech this semester:

• small, single-purpose methods
• separation of concerns (database access is separate from the view, for example: no java code in the jsps, and no html in the java code).
• DRY principle - Don't Repeat Yourself - no duplicate code.

Build and Deploy

• regularly deploying to aws

Consuming Web Services

• You can make progress on this by completing the week 8 demos and exercise.
• Consuming a service in your indie project can help you demonstrate proficiency.

Producing Web Services

• You can make progress on this by completing the week 9 demo and exercise.
• Your contribution to the team project, depending on the approach your team takes, may help you demonstrate proficiency here

Git and GitHub

• Branching is covered in week 10
• Collaboration on a group project using version control can help demonstrate proficiency

Patterns

• MVC too!
• Are there other design patterns that you know and have used? Factory pattern? Singleton?

Hibernate

• Completing the demos and exercises in week 4 and 5 will help you make progress on learning hibernate/jpa.
• Implementing multiple one-to-many relationships with hibernate in your project and fully testing all relationships with unit tests can move you toward the proficient level.
