What were you trying to do and how can we improve it?

I was attempting to see what the maximum amount is that a person can contribute to a campaign. these figures do not match up with the amount of time seeing how is it that Elon Musk can contribute $40,000,000 to the Republican presidential candidate and Bill Gates can contribute and 50,000 million dollars to the Democratic candidate?
