Difficulty with raising data table filter interaction

What were you trying to do and how can we improve it?

I was trying to view and download individual campaign contributions, filtered by a single recipient and a city.

Three problems. First, I encountered the error that I my query involved multiple date ranges. It did not. I did not even change it from the default. After resetting all filters and refreshing the page, I tried again. On the third attempt it worked.

Second, when I tried to download the results of a query with around 500 results, it took several minutes and then told me I had exceeded my maximum downloads for the hour or encountered a server error.

Third, I cannot get rid of this error notification across two browser windows.

General feedback?

Nice idea, but poor execution. City choice should specify format "City, ST" or "City, State" or just "City". City choice should select or autocomplete from validated list, especially given the number of cities with the same name.

The errors reported in this issue, as well as #9074, may relate to the temporary API outage last week.
