Demo for use of FedCM as an "account picker" in an open banking context #557

Today at OSW we discussed that it would be useful to demo how FedCM could help remove friction in an open banking user flow where the user has to select their bank from a list of say 40 or 400 banks. Is it useful to track this effort somewhere so we can share our progress?

Let me kick off by sharing what I just found while quickly looking at this task just now:

I tried to trigger this situation at a Dutch webshop that integrates iDeal payments where I had an account, but found that this particular webshop remembers my bank already anyway:

I'll keep looking around because iDeal payments are used in many places (there are only 14 options so not as bad as in some other jurisdictions) and I'm sure i often have to select my bank from a list, and FedCM as an account picker would definitely help here to improve user experience and reduce user drop-off

Do you know how this works? Does it work in the absence of third party cookies (e.g. in firefox/safari or in chrome with it disabled)?
