Well this is actually not completely true, you should fork the FAS repo only if you do not have commit rights on the main repo, you may then use github, but not necessarily as git comes with its own request-pull feature which can be submitted by email.
What we try to do though is having no-one pushing directly to the develop or master branches but rather push their changes in their own branch which is then merge into develop after reviewing.
Ok we can rule out these lines and continue with the HACKING guide. :-)
