planet #19

It looks like planet is not sending messages anymore. I am not sure if this was support that was removed, or it just stopped working and wasn't fixed. This commit message removes planet from the bot that sends messages to IRC, stating planet is no longer sending messages.

That being said, i also can't figure out how planet was sending messages either, there is no reference to fedmsg or fedora-messaging in https://pagure.io/fedora-infra/ansible/blob/master/f/roles/planet and the only reference in the whole ansible repo to these messages is this line in https://pagure.io/fedora-infra/ansible/blob/master/f/inventory/group_vars/people#_27

It is not at all intentional. planet stopped sending fedmsgs and we don't know why. ;(

See: https://pagure.io/fedora-infrastructure/issue/8462 which I opened about the issue, but no one has been able to figure it out.

playbooks/groups/people.yml has the fedmsg/base role and the 'venus' package has a call to emit fedmsgs, but I have no idea why it's failing. Moving it to fedora-messaging would be a good thing to try. Looks like zlopez already has started work on that? See the above ticket...

Thanks for the info, @nirik looks like @zlopez is all over this one. if anyone is interested, https://pagure.io/fedora-infrastructure/issue/8462 has more information too.

Just noting the current status of this ticket here:
