currently you can award a badge using either fasusername++ or ircnick++ (if they have their ircnick listed in FAS), but you can only query for how much karma a person has by checking .karma fasusername. You should also be able to query with .karma ircnick (again, if it is listed in FAS) -- but that still needs to be implemented in the plugin here.
