Update checkbox when reboot/power-off from system menu #445

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. Currently we do not have the option, unlike workstation, to update then power-off via gui, we can only reboot. Afaik rebooting from the system menu doesn't update either, only from gnome-software.

Describe the solution you'd like Bring these features to silverblue, we've already got the reboot one built into g-s. Enable the checkbox to update when rebooting or powering off from the system menu.

Thanks for filling an issue. This looks like a feature request for GNOME Software. Can you file an issue in their tracker (https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-software) and link it here? Thanks

This would need some discussion about what it means to "update and power off" or "update and reboot". When gnome-software automatically runs rpm-ostree upgrade the update is already applied and you just need to boot into the new ostree image.

Basically an option like "update and power off" would do the exact same thing as just "power off".

I have just powered off, then back on, while an update is "pending" in g-s: Screenshot from 2023-04-06 15-23-24 and this screen, including its contents has not changed.

Pressing "Restart & Update" seems to be required before the update is applied. I then have to cancel the reboot and then shut down.

I'm sorry, you're right. I forgot to specify that the behaviour I described is on fedora 38 with the g-s version that comes with gnome 44
