Instead of prompting to ask if it's ok to trade out Base Stats, ask if ok to Swap Abilities
If yes is selected, trade out abilities per the Core Rulebook on evolution

From Core Rulebook page 202: "Abilities change to match the Ability in the same spot in the Evolution’s Ability List."

Basically, if "Basic Ability #2" was used in pre-evolution, use "Basic Ability #2" on the evolution.
