This is a really interesting idea @JeremyArensdorf. What kind of data would be most interesting to you and do you have a sense of what type of information is already recorded in agency financial systems? It seems like the trickiest part could be IAAs that don't conform to the same rules of the award id.
Thanks, Kaitlin. It would be good to have a Contracting Officer/Contract Specialist weigh in on what they enter into the system now, but since it is a financial obligation/transfer, I would assume a number of relevant data points are entered that would be similar to a contract. It would be interesting to see the dollar amount, the awarding agency, the agency recipient, the purpose of the IAA (product/services description), period of performance, etc. Ultimately, it would be very interesting to see how that money flows from the awarding agency to the shared services center, and then if it flows further down to a contractor or remains with the government.
While financial systems record Interagency Agreements (IAAs), they are not provided in public information on government spend. It would be interesting to see IAA data, especially for shared services.
