Branch started to collect the next set of breaking changes

1209e11392521675889e417a5de2bd86540570ec and dd98775b88b88534cfe95dabe0060c0752bdfbd1 complete the separation of the database page storage options.

Not sure if these changes should join with the removal of bouncy ( 36c9f949e3d95488216faf181104df031078da5c ) which is also a breaking changed.
