Just tried it and I see the same issue - I will look into it!
Have not had much time looking into this and I am not quite sure what is going on yet. In any case, I found that if you fill in
city: "Louisville Colorado"
and leave region blank, it correctly finds Louisville, CO

I live in Louisville Colorado. The auto locate is putting me in Louisville KY. If I put in other neighboring cities and force the location, it finds other cities with the same names in other states. So, If I put in CO for the region, it still finds Louisville KY. If I put in Superior CO, it finds another Superior city in Wisconsin (I think). So auto locate and force location both put me in the wrong place.... until, I find the nearest neighboring city with a name that locates to Colorado, Boulder. So I think the auto locate and the static location are both ignoring region and just looking up by city and then finding the wrong one.
