Blank character list #12

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. add an api key
2. it borks here it shows a list at the bottom and says to select a 
character (spelling is bad here btw), but the list is always blank no 
matter what i do.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
list of users to select to add

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.2.4

please close this issue, it was my own stupidity, eve is down cause of the 
patch, 
though you should add a notice if the API is down and not show the list .
