It is beyond me why people still insist on including this in repos. It's obsolete, was never considered finished and/or safe to use and is highly discouraged to be used at all as it has been superseded by the vendor-reset project (https://github.com/gnif/vendor-reset) which not only is more complete, it supports more devices and doesn't require you to patch the kernel.
