RC2 is released today. Interested to look at this.

@Gone2Daly examples run correctly and the porting looks very good. Though this branch is far behind features on main, I'll wait for your response if you would like to still work on this PR in order to implement the remaining features, or you won't be able to work on them (so I'll just merge and port the missing features by myself).
