Book covers taking too long to load in v. 1.5.x #293

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Open ebook Droid
2."Recent Books" shelf appears

What is the expected output?
Books appearing on shelf without delay, as in previous versions of ebookDroid

What do you see instead?
Books covers take many seconds (almost a minute) to load, even if there are few 
books on the shelf. This problem did not occur in previous versions of 
ebookdroid.

What version of the product are you using?
1.5.1

On what operating system?
Android 4.1.1

What device are you using?
Motorola Xoom 1

Sorry, since 1.5 book covers are loaded in background to prevent UI freezes.
