Add a Major Updater prerequisites-checks page

Describe the bug Major Updater should have a prerequisites page, which checks for issues before allowing an update to Feren OS 2023.07.

Planned prerequisites

• Check for Microsoft Teams

• Check for native Firefox

  • "Firefox is no longer available from the "Standard Installation" source."
  • "If you continue the Major Update, Firefox will be migrated from "Standard Installation" to the version available from "Flathub", and your browser profiles, including settings, history, bookmarks and other data, will be migrated automatically after logging in after the update."

• Check for native Chromium

  • "Chromium is no longer available from the "Standard Installation" source."
  • "If you continue the Major Update, Chromium will be migrated from "Standard Installation" to the version available from "Flathub", and your browser profiles, including settings, history, bookmarks and other data, will be migrated automatically after logging in after the update."

• Check for native Midori

• Check for packages that have been moved into Unsupported Community Packages

  • "Community software that is not officially supported by Feren OS is currently installed"
  • "You may continue to use this software, however do be warned that we are not inclined to give support in the event Feren OS breaks as a result of keeping community software that is not officially supported by Feren OS developers installed. Continuing the Major Update will pre-enable the "Unsupported Community Software" Application Source to allow your software to be updated, and prevent issues with updating when using outdated software."

• Check for repositories not available in Application Sources

These repositories are not officially supported by Feren OS and could compromise your security, as well as bringing stability and compatibility issues. From now on, it is highly recommended to install software via the sources available in Store whenever possible to do so."

• Check if kimpanel is not on the panel

  • "To add it, go into Add Widgets, find Input Method Panel, and drag it to the left of your system tray."
  • "Without it, you will be missing out on additional functionality for your current input method."

• Check for fcitx 4

  • (fcitx icon) "fcitx will be upgraded to Fcitx 5"
  • "As of Feren OS 2023.07, Fcitx 5 is now used for Chinese, Japanese, and Korean input methods. Fcitx 5 introduces a fair share of improvements over your current version of fcitx, however you may lose some of your configurations in the process."
  • "If you continue the Major Update, fcitx will be upgraded to Fcitx 5, and will be configured automatically for your current keyboard layout."

• Check for firewalld and ufw - if both are installed,

  • "Your Firewall will be switched to firewalld"
  • "As of Feren OS 2023.07, firewalld is now the default firewall, allowing with it fixes for KDE Connect and so on."
  • "If you continue the Major Update, ufw will be removed and firewalld will be enabled automatically."

• Check for Brave repository Brave

  • "Brave's default source has been changed"
  • "Due to Brave's repository constantly breaking its ability to verify its browser's legitimacy via signing keys, leading to constant issues with updating your system, Brave will no longer be available from their repository by default. Instead, Store now installs Brave from "Flathub" by default."

• Check that 10GB of space is available on /

  • "Not enough free space is available"
  • "At least 10 gigabytes is required to be available on your Feren OS installation's drive before you can start a Major Update. This move is to ensure that your Feren OS installation doesn't potentially fill up its remaining disk space during the update process, resulting in a broken installation."

Forced warnings: "The following changes to Feren OS will be made If you use these features, you should read through this page before continuing."

• Web Browser Manager is now Store

  • As of Feren OS 2023.07, Store is now the place to go to manage browsers in Feren OS, with more options for browsers than ever before. By continuing, Web Browser Manager will be permanently removed, with a shortcut to browsers in Store replacing it.
  • Don't worry, you can still manage browsers you've installed through Web Browser Manager in the new Store, as well as now being able to manage updates for them manually and much more.

• Driver Management is now done through Store

  • As of Feren OS 2023.07, drivers can be managed through the Store by going to the "Updates and Installed" page on the top-right of the Store window, and scrolling down to the "Drivers" section of the page if your computer is eligible for any additional drivers.
  • By continuing, Driver Manager will be permanently removed as it is redundant due to this change.

• Updates are now managed through Store

  • As of Feren OS 2023.07, updates for Feren OS and your installed applications are now done through the Store, instead of Update Manager, and automation such as automatic updates is now easier to configure than ever before.
  • By continuing, both Update Manager and unattended-upgrades will be removed as they have been replaced by 2023.07's new Store.

• Recommended applications in the Welcome Screen have been moved to Store

  • As of Feren OS 2023.07, all the remaining functionality in Welcome Screen has been substituted by other programs. As mentioned, recommended applications can now be found in Store instead, from the handy "Recommended applications for..." section of the Store's homepage. Additionally, help guides are now available from Tour instead.
  • By continuing, the Welcome Screen will be permanently removed.

Niche-case warnings:

• You have multiple Desktop Environments installed (more files in /usr/share/xsessions than just KDE Plasma?)
  • DesktopSwop has been introduced, in Feren OS 2023.11, to fix GTK configuration conflicts that can happen between multiple Desktop Environments.
  • By continuing, your current GTK configuration files will become exclusive to the first Desktop Environment you log into after the update, while your other Desktop Environments' GTK configuration files will be reset to defaults.
