We need a new logo since Forage is dead and Norch is back. Dawn of the dead!

fergiemcdowall commented 10 years ago

We do. I really want a square one with a brightly coloured background because I am ALL ABOUT THE LAPTOP STICKERS these days... ;)

fergiemcdowall commented 10 years ago

There is of course always:

      ___ ___ ___ ___ ___

Nice input and something to work with =)

mewwts commented 10 years ago

I'm all for laptop stickers and ASCII art!

image With and without comment style. Made it a bit more condense.

image Played around with the pig's snout, now eyes.

fergiemcdowall commented 10 years ago

Nice!

Does the pig snout play as well as it used to then the name was "Forage"? Since pigs forage for truffles, etc.

I wonder if we could come up with a smart motif for "Norch", or even "Node Search" (since Norch == "No de sear ch")

eklem commented 10 years ago

No, the snout doesn't play that well anymore =) Just wanted to test and figured they could be eyes. But that android looks a little sad.

Anyways... I'll try to figure out something with node and/or search without being to obvious.

eklem commented 10 years ago

So, here's one take on using a hexagon as the Node-reference. norch-logo-02-06

The mesh/node network is just random rambling so far, but thought that a distributed node mesh had a nice logic to it: node1

mewwts commented 10 years ago

I really like the graphy feel of the second one. However, did you try writing out the o? In my head the o is missing, but then again that might be a really good thing to do to make a logo memorable, I guess!

eklem commented 10 years ago

Thanks @mewwts , I'll test some variations with/without the o.

norch-logo-06

And if we want to make "sub-logos": norch-logo-07

eklem commented 10 years ago

norch-logo-06 So, work on the mesh... and then some colors. Any suggestions on nice color combinations?

eklem commented 10 years ago

Dropping the mesh for now. Feeling it will just be a really cheesy "this is some logo art"-stuff. Making the shadow longer so you get a magnifying-glass without being too obvious. norch-logo-07

And testing some colors: norch-logo-09

And all the not so successful ones: norch-logo-08

eklem commented 9 years ago

And trying to make rectangular stickers norch-logo-10

MaxLans commented 6 years ago

Hi @eklem, I would really go for the clustered logos. I just looked into this chat and I would still suggest to continue with the logo editing, for example:

https://cloud.githubusercontent.com/assets/236656/4548835/54538884-4e58-11e4-9f12-abd3221a4d8c.png

But just turn the background connected dots 90 degress to the left and you will have a nice logo. Apply the colors as shown here:

https://cloud.githubusercontent.com/assets/236656/4578295/bf989cf8-4fc3-11e4-9500-579df01fd837.png

First image on the left side is right color settings.

Can you initiate a new logo set with that, or apply me the source so i can do the rest? also include the api text as a sublogo to show us the result.

Let's rock with Norch!

For now =)

Feel free to open up again, @fergiemcdowall =)

Here are some more mockups I've made to show how associated modules could tie in.
