Update inline view when inputs change #413

This is split into two commits:

  1. Updates the code to enable view updates for inline usage, after inputs are set.
  2. An update to the demo to help showing how this happens, feel free to drop it again.

Any chance, you could release this and maybe even release a backport for the 4.x version?
