related to, and distinct from Ryan's concerns about offloading and picking up players at the end of the season to influence the championship/what turned out to be the policy of "do not be a dick."
potential problem: teams situating their team for a 1-2 week performance boost may offload decent long-term players at the end of the season which can then be picked up by other teams for less than market value and signed for 3 year contracts, ultimately damaging the pool of free agent draft picks.
rule proposal: once playoffs begin, no player can be signed off of waivers for longer than a 1 year contract.
(sure, i suspect there is a better option out there, but figured i would put something out for people to yell about)
