The league historian can tell you about quite a kerfuffle the morning of the trade deadline in 2018 when the League official deadline had passed but the ESPN window was still open because it closed at 9am EST instead of 12am PST.
The original trade deadline (midnight on Tuesday night before week 9) was put in place to accommodate a trade review period. Now that the trade review period is gone, we can bump closer to week 9. Since ESPN doesn't allow for a Thursday trade processing, this proposed we move trade deadline to Wednesday 12:00 PM PST before Week 9.
