Need to discourage tanking or not trying late in the season for teams that miss the playoffs. Other teams still in the hunt depend on those teams to put up an effort.

Closing as the playoff format reconstruction (e.g. more teams in hunt later in the season) appears to have mitigated some of this concern. Can open new issue if concern remains.
