[Schedule] How to handle 18 game NFL regular season

First decision: Do we make week 17 a meaningful week for the League?

Considerations:

• The last NFL bye week was Week 12, now it is Week 14.
• Good teams may lock in playoffs sooner, making Week 17 a potential "dial back your starters" kind of week.

Options:

• Leave as is - 11 week reg season, 12 wildcard, 13-14 semis, 15-16 championship
• Extend wild-card - 11 week reg season, 12-13 wildcard, 14-15 semis, 16-17 championship
• Extend reg season - 12 week reg season, 13 wildcard, 14-15 semis, 16-17 championship
  • Make week 12 the "Rivalry" matchup where you play against your division rival (e.g. BOT/WSW, POW/QP, CAB/FJM, WAW/IPF, RCMP/QRK, HALA/I90)

General agreement on 2-week wild card.

Proposal:

• Wildcard losers play each other for 6th/7th overall pick in week 14&15. Then are done (no longer play into consolation ladder).
• Consolation ladder has 2 week matchups following same structure as championship bracket (first round losers play each other).
