The League has played the same schedule since it started with just one change: eliminating one regular season game, the second divisional rivalry matchup.
The only purposeful aspects of the schedule is that the first and last regular season games are divisional we avoid BYE weeks for the other one. Other than that, playing the same matchup every year was never an intentional feature of the League, we sort of just did it.
I'd like to propose we revisit this. I believe it would be more fun to shuffle the schedule every year, but keep the division weeks the same.
