Sporadic "digital" noise #6

Closed ffont closed 6 years ago

ffont commented 6 years ago

From time to time when playing with the DD some sort of "digital" noise gets into the signal for a few seconds (listen to the sound example I posted). It seems to last from 5 to 10 seconds and seems to happen once every ~5 minutes.

It could be a thing of my sound card (although I know it's not clipping), but I'm sharing the issue here just in case someone else also experienced it. I'll try to add more information if it happens again or if I find a way to reproduce the problem.

I've experienced again these problems and recorded new examples that you can download here:

Some notes about the tests:

ffont commented 6 years ago

I did some more testing, now without using the audio interface and listening via headphones using the headphones jack. DD getting MIDI in via DIN5 (so not connected via USB to any machine). I've been randomly playing for ~20 minutes and I did not hear the digital noise (which is great news). This means that it might be related to my audio out connector or to the setup with the audio interface.

I'll run some more tests in the coming days and see if I can get to hear the noise again with different configurations.

Did some more tests and I could asses that the noise does NOT come from DD. It is added in my computer when getting the audio back from the audio interface and outputting it through the computer built-in output. I did not try further configurations because in any case this is not a DD related problem. Closing this issue now.
