Installing from melpa results in error: Symbol's function definition is void: python-syntax-stringify #129

I install python.el from melpa with package-install, and once attempting to enter python-mode I get this error.

Only re-eval'ing python.el makes it behave. Any clues why this might happen?

Well, I feel there's no much I can do in python.el itself, since it works well in Emacs trunk and with other install methods. I'd suggest that you sent a bug report to the melpa guys instead.

My guess is that something is messed up with your autoloads.
