Possibly shorten Basic R lecture to only 1 part? #141

In order to find extra time to cover both setting up R projects and knitting, what about shortening the Basic R lecture by

  1. removing the slides about using R as a calculator
  2. removing the slides about sample() and rep(), as they are used later in the course and are re-introduced immediately before being used again
