SDCN reward me with some Dogecoin? #24

Hello everyone, I would like to raise a question here and hope to get your thoughts and feedback.

Should we consider providing some form of recognition or rewards to computing power donors to encourage more people to participate and contribute to our project? I am willing to contribute, but I also hope to see my contributions recognized and rewarded in some way.

If we could offer some form of recognition or rewards, such as publishing the donor list on the website, issuing thank-you letters or certificates, or providing some tangible rewards, this would encourage more people to join our project and contribute their computing power.

I hope everyone can discuss and share their thoughts more, as this will help us better promote this project. Otherwise, it may result in no one else participating in it.

Today, Musk changed his Twitter logo to Dogecoin. SDCN reward me with some Dogecoin?

This is a good and important question to discuss. In addition to considering incentives for donors to encourage more people to contribute computing power, I am also thinking about how to prevent the abuse of computing power.

I am considering establishing a system of rewards and penalties based on a points system to encourage positive behavior and deter negative behavior.

As an open-source project, we do not have any income, so we cannot currently reward you with Dogecoin. Using cryptocurrency as a points system is an option, but it is somewhat beyond the scope of this project.

This is a very important matter, and I believe that a simple point system could be implemented as an encouragement for donors at present. Based on my own experience, economic systems can be very complex, and we can consider more options once there are more people in SDCN.

Before diving into the details, giving it a name is the most important thing. Do you have any ideas for its name? Related concepts include AI, Stable Diffusion, image generation, etc. "credit" or "point" is OK, just a little boring.

just finished configuring a node on my own... If SDCN needs more people to contribute computing power, then an incentive system is necessary to ensure that those who contribute receive respect and recognition.

voltff commented 1 year ago

It's best to give the incentive a name that can bring honor to donors.

"honor" sounds like a good idea, as the name of points or credits.

@Synthintel @DiligentCatCat @troy6en do you have any suggestion?

I'm not very good at naming. But since I noticed that your old code contains an API named "hallofhonor", I think you may already have the name in your subconscious mind. Yes, that's "honor".

I think the term ‘honor’ is a good choice of words

Contributing GPU computing power requires money. Although I believe that many generous people are willing to contribute GPU computing power, it cannot be sustainable without incentives. Rewording these generous people money is good, but we cannot provide so much, may be some sort of rules similar to those of emule are more praticle, at least before we become as rich as Elon Musk. XD

How about allowing honor transfers? It would be cool if donors could transfer honor to each other or even to computing power users. It would make earning and collecting honor more interesting!
