Filecoin Core Devs Meeting #27 - 2021-09-23

• Meeting Date/Time: Thursday, September 23th 2021, 16:00 UTC
• Meeting Recording:
• Attendance: Forest (Chainsafe), Fuhon (Soramitsu), Lotus (PL), Venus (IPFSForce), Filecoin Foundation, and Community representatives

Updates for the week:

Lotus:

• We are running 1.11.3 RC train, we plan to deploy it next week, probably Tuesday next week

Forest:

• We are back on Mainnet, working on our initial release.
• Working on the state migration, too
• Sync with calibration net
• Release timeline - we plan to go out in the next 2-3 weeks

Fuhon:

• We are going through our internal Security audit. We don’t have any real predictions when we can finish. Probably it will take the next 2 weeks + addressing the issues we found
• We aren’t in a hurry, we are aiming to have stability
• We have finished Miner features, we are testing with the Lotus node
• Working on a more advanced test suite, showing various cases of load and performance testing. This can be used for the Lotus implementation.

Venus:

• We expect to have a new release, which will deliver deals implementation + improvements to the flow
• The team is working on testing + refactors
• The incubation program will happen in Milestone 2, which will invite small miners to join us

Filecoin Foundation:

• Audits are in progress.
• We are working on Fuzzer tester which can be used for every implementation. Should happen in Q1 2022
• We are going to talk more about the FIP status, a lot of activity, and open discussions

FIPs updates:

• FIP019 SnapDeals we still have time, since we plan to finish the implementation in Q1 2022

• ZX presented a new FIP draft(https://github.com/filecoin-project/FIPs/pull/174 - BatchBalancer & BatchDiscount Post-HyperDrive Adjustment)
• We would need a wide discussion within the community to explain the idea and the motivation behind the change we want to introduce.
• This looks like an easy change from the implementation team.
