Next Step Microgrant: ENS Redirect #1182

Closed hellenstans97 closed 1 year ago

1. What is your project? (max 100 words)

Most ENS holders didn't know that they could do so much more with their .eth names. The basic idea behind ENS Redirect was to make it easier for users to utilize their ENS names, whether that is by forwarding domains to their social/professional profiles, showing off their work, supporting a cause, or just having fun with youtube videos & memes. Our proof of concept has so far been used by over 250 ENS domain holders. As this trend continues, we should expect a noticeable increase in ENS IPFS-Contenthash records set over the next few weeks & months.

2. Project links

Website: https://ensredirect.xyz/

Twitter: https://twitter.com/ensredirect

Link to Github repo: https://github.com/ENS-Redirect/ensredirect Link to demo or website, if applicable: http://ensredirect.xyz/video.gif License: ENS Redirect is licensed under the MIT License: https://github.com/ENS-Redirect/ensredirect/blob/main/LICENSE

3. How is IPFS, Filecoin, or related technology used in this project? (max 100 words)

ENS-Redirect generates a redirect script on the backend, then uploads it to IPFS and pins it. The content hash is then returned to the client-side, which will trigger a transaction to 'setContentHash' on the corresponding ENS domain we want to deploy the page/redirect on. We are currently using the ipfs-http-client javascript library to interact with our dedicated Infura IPFS gateway.

4. How will you improve your project with this grant? What steps will you take to meet this objective? (max 200 words)

5. Do you agree to share grant reports upon request, including a final grant report at the end of the three month period?

Yes, we agree to share grant reports upon request, including a final grant report at the end of the three month period.

6. Does your proposal comply with our Community Code of Conduct?

Yes, our proposal complies with the Community Code of Conduct.
