Next Step Microgrant: Gateway

1. What is your project? (max 100 words)

Gateway aims to be a discover and interaction platform for DAOs. Users will be able to interact and be a part of their favorite communities, receive community badges (NFTs whose metadata will be stored on IPFS), Gateway NFT badges for certain platform achievements, Gateway status, and showcase their on-chain resume (DAO-related transactions). The NFT metadata integration will be handled using IPFS tools; for fetching and storing persistent data that is meaningful for both the platform and the communities that are a part of it. Once we begin issuing NFTs (in the next month), we will use IPFS more directly. mygateway.xyz ### 2. How are you planning to improve this project? (max 200 words)

We seek grant support to hire more engineers and cover the expenses for API pulls (etherscan premium). Currently, our platform only supports discovery. We have enabled search and editing of relevant information related to communities. However, we are almost done developing user profiles. The profiles will display an "on-chain" resume and people will be rewarded badges in the form of NFTs. We will be using Filecoin and the related ecosystem for this storage. This grant will provide the necessary funding and support for hiring developers but also collaborating with Filecoin to receive support.

3. Will the work be Open Source?

Currently, the work is not open-source. ### 4. If selected, do you agree to share weekly updates and a grant report upon conclusion? Yes, we would be more than happy to share weekly updates as well as a grant report. ### 5. Does your proposal comply with our Community Code of Conduct? Currently, we are not utilizing Filecoin technology. As soon as we integrate it (we plan to in the next couple of weeks), we will surely submit it to showcase the project.

Thanks, folks. We noticed that your project is not currently open-source. What are your plans, if any, to make this an open-source project? Additionally, it sounds like you have already made headway on this project, but I do not see a link to a repo. Can you please also provide a link to the platform (either code or a demo)?

Hi ST,

Thank you for this response. We are trying to move to open source as quickly as possible, but are waiting until we finish the engagement and contribution system we are working on. We anticipate this should happen in the next couple of weeks. We will directly be using IPFS for the storage of the NFT badges. The link to the platform is currently here:
