Open Grant Proposal: 3WebDAO #630

Closed Jonkrua closed 11 months ago

Jonkrua commented 2 years ago

Name of Project: 3WebDAO

Proposal Category: app-dev

Proposer: Jonkrua

(Optional) Technical Sponsor: If you have previously discussed this project with a member of the IPFS or Filecoin project teams and they have agreed to be a technical sponsor, include their name and/or github handle here

Do you agree to open source all work you do on behalf of this RFP and dual-license under MIT, APACHE2, or GPL licenses?:

No,Considering the security of backend, only the front-end modules are open source, and other services are not open source for the time being. We understand that many blockchain infrastructure(explorers) do this too.

Project Description

3WebDAO is a decentralized blockchain insight platform, which combines on-chain data metrics and reserach reports for digital asset stakeholders.

Why On-Chain? As early adopters of crypto, we found blockchains are constantly generating a wealth of open, incorruptible financial data that allows us to access precise, trustworthy measures of relevant economic activity in crypto networks.By unlocking this on-chain data from Filecoin, 3WebDAO is changing the way we measure market sentiment and behaviour.

Why Report? We found that blockchain is a high threshold industry combining technology and finance. 3WebDAO hope to help early users finding out blockchain through more professional and objective research reports which be stored on Filecoin/IPFS through Web3.Storage.

Value

  1. As we all know, FVM will go launch this year. We believe that its compatibility with EVM and other features will bring more developers and users of DeFi, NFT, Metaverse, and GameFi to the Filecoin ecosystem which also directly empower FIL tokens economically. By then, Filecoin’s on-chain data will become more and more complex. There is currently no complete on-chain data analysis tool in the Filecoin ecosystem. The benefits to getting this right is solve on-chain data visualization problems for Filecoin users and developers from now.

  2. If we don‘t get it right, there should be no risk. We are confident 3WebDAO will be an important infrastructure in a filecoin.

  3. We don't have such risks because we already have 4 members working on it, and they are well experienced in executing the things. The only risk that we see is if we don't get enough support from the Filecoin Foundation.

Deliverables

  1. Construction and deployment of Filecoin node operating environment;

  2. Develop On-Chain data analysis module based on transactions from Filecoin which including Total Txnsx hours Txns Variationsx hours Base Fee Variations.

  3. Develop On-Chain data analysis module based on token from Filecoin which including FIL Total Max SupplyFIL Circulating SupplyFIL Total Pledge CollateralFIL Burnt.

  4. Develop On-Chain data analysis module based on accounts from Filecoin which including Total AccountsAccounts TagRich List of FIL.

  5. Develop On-Chain Monitoring module based on address/Twitter from Filecoin.

  6. Develop On-Chain data analysis module based on FVM from Filecoin which including NFTandDeFi.

  7. Develop Open API and Documentation about On-Chain data analysis for Developer.

Hi @Jonkrua thank you for your proposal. We're still reviewing this but please take note of the following notes, questions, and recommendations from our initial review:

  • Can you provide additional information on the node operating environment you need, if its for a database, how far back do you intend to index? I learned that third-party node service providers such as infura can be used to obtain on-chain data, so it is not necessary to deploy nodes.
  • Work on M1 is a widely available service through explorers like filfox.io - what would you consider your differentiation factors? Frankly speaking, the Work on M1 similar to filfox, the difference is that filfox is essentially a blockchain explorer. the Work on M1 is just a basic function that we used for our early acquisition of users, our innovative function is in M2.
  • @eshon would be happy to have an open discussion on how we can leverage the scope of M2, here's an office hours booking channel you can use to find a time that works for you. Are there any members of your team who are in China or speak Chinese? This will make it easier for us to communicate.

Thank you. I will be patient.

Hi @Jonkrua, thank you again for your patience. After much discussion, we've determined that additional progress is needed before proceeding with the consideration of a grant.

Would you have an interest in applying to the FVM Early Builders program? It could be a great opportunity to follow FVM progress and showcase a prototype (perhaps an early open source PoC).

If you would like to apply for the program, let me know! I can connect with the team to confirm if there is flexibility with the submission deadline.

Hi @ErinOCon , thank you for your discussion on the proposal. We are not interested in applying to the FVM Early Builders program because the time cost is too high for us. We hope to develop based on a mature and stable FVM. We still want to apply for funding by open grant proposal. If you think that the proposal amount is too high, we can make appropriate adjustments.
