Hi @dvlasits, thank you for your proposal! Can you provide a working link to your project repo?
Very sorry about that, should be fixed. The same link (https://github.com/dvlasits/NYCMessaging) should now work.
Hi @dvlasits, thank you for the working Github link. This grant has been approved! We will send you an email to confirm payment details.
1. What is your project? (max 100 words)
This project is about a messaging app which is fully anonymised, decentralised but most importantly it is fully untraceable. I.e. you cannot tell that A talks to B, who talks to C, who talks to A. For example, and therefore there is no data to be exploited by companies.

2. How will IPFS, Filecoin, or related technology be used for this project? (max 100 words)
IPFS and IPFS related technology is used to send the messages, and to store who we are talking to, to allow this to be a full on web app. After the initial connection is established. In the demo above we send an IPNS link and use that for mutable data. But I would like to look into other solutions which rely on IPFS such as OrbitDB.
3. How will you improve your project with this grant? What steps will you take to meet this objective? (max 200 words)
Currently the project has a javascript frontend with a python backend. Which is not a reasonable solution. I would like to use this money to create either a phone app. Or do it completely in JavaScript so nothing needs to be downloaded. And could therefore actually start to be used. I would also like to put a lot more thought into how exactly it remains untraceable and add extra techniques, such as tornado cache potentially too.
4. Is this project open source: yes.
5. Do you agree to share grant reports upon request, including a final grant report at the end of the three month period?
yes
6. Does your proposal comply with our Community Code of Conduct?
yes
