Description: Is it at all possible for us to fork https://github.com/Arachnid/deterministic-deployment-proxyArachnid/deterministic-deployment-proxy> and modify it to support FVM with an updated gasLimit? NO

Yes, it’s impossible, because the gas limit is also signed by the private key. If you alter the limit, the transaction payload will change and the address obtained from the signature recovery will be different. With the different signer address the deployed address will also change because it’s a hash of the signer address and its nonce.
