Fix badge image alt texts and styling #2269

Issue:

Gitbook doesn't like hyphenated alt texts and renders them as figcaptions.
Github stars badges don't render the github octocat logo.

Fix:

Remove hyphens in the alt texts
Change styling to bigger, non-social badges
