Hey @andrewxhill, wow, that's quite a bit of DataCaps to a single Notary. Are you preparing some gaps for the bridge to the NEAR, ETH and Polygon? I heard you are onboarding non-blockchain users as well, but you should apply via LDN, I will definitely support that.

For now, I could allocate part of your request amount to fill some sudden gaps if it's okay with you.

Yeah, that's just it. I'm preparing the LDN application but want to be sure we don't get caught with downtime right as we are ramping up, and LDN apps seem to be taking a good amount of time. So yep, partials would be amazing.

Exactly regarding the use-cases. There are two.

  1. Blockchains. We've got NEAR Testnet, but are aiming to release NEAR Mainnet, Eth, and Polygon in the near future.
  2. Non-blockchains. These are users preparing their own CAR files and submitting auctions to the miner pool.

We've got 4-6 miners currently competing for access to every deal, selected purely on bid price right now. Side-note, we'll be having our first auction governance call soon where we'll start inviting miners and others to help us keep making this UI better. That said, we are going to start sharing the bidding tool widely for miners to onboard themselves. So as far as decentralization, this should be pretty unmatched (it will be the miners that compete to win instead of us directing where deals go).

We are shooting for all data in these early use-cases to be open datasets, owned by their publisher. We are also working on some public APIs and reporting tools so that everyone will be able to see the full history of deals made, data contained, and auction results (bids and winning selections). That should be available in early August.
