Share a brief history of your project and organization.

MatrixStorage is a storage service platform based on distributed storage network.  MatrixStorage provides easy-to-use PaaS service, OpenAPI service and storage tool suite, and is committed to providng costumers with stable and reliable distributed Storage services. We concentrated on building intermediate technology bridge between the demand side and distributed storage network. 
MatrixStorage was officially launched on April 22, 2021. Several iterations have been completed over the past few months and are now ready to provide customers with smooth experience of online storage service.

The main source of our fundings comes from the special fund established by the company.

MatrixStorage is an independent product project, with independent R&D, promotion and operation team.

Use-case details

Describe the data being stored onto Filecoin

MatrixStorage stores data mainly from users' public storage data. 
At present, we cooperate with more than 30 enterprises, including medical and health, media, ethnic culture, finance and other fields. We play the role of a service platform to help enterprise users upload their business data to IPFS/Filecoin networks. 
These enterprise users will undergo rigorous qualification checks, including their industry background, data source, enterprise authenticity, etc. When we confirm that their real data storing demand is legitimate, we will provide an interface for them to upload data in accordance with laws and regulations.

Where was the data in this dataset sourced from?

These datasets come from the storage users of matrix storage.

Confirm that this is a public dataset that can be retrieved by anyone on the Network (i.e., no specific permissions or access rights are required to view the data).

Confirmed. The data we want to store is the data that the user has confirmed to be public. All data is open to the entire IPFS/Filecoin ecosystem and can be retrieved at any time by partners who are interested in them.

What is the expected retrieval frequency for this data?

With rapid growth of the ecosystem, we expect that the frequency of data retrieval will increase continuously. For our storage clients, the frequency of retrieval is about two times every six months.

For how long do you plan to keep this dataset stored on Filecoin?

Currently, storage time ranges from 180 days to 540 days, and may be renewed later.

In which geographies (countries, regions) do you plan on making storage deals?

Users can select any node that works with the MatrixStorage  in any region.

How will you be distributing your data to storage providers? Is there an offline data transfer process?

MatrixStorage is an online service platform. Our clients can distribute their data to storage service providers through online upload and OpenAPI. When the dataset scale is large, they can also use the method of offline storage.

How do you plan on choosing the storage providers with whom you will be making deals? This should include a plan to ensure the data is retrievable in the future both by you and others.

MatrixStorage complies with users' storage requirements and devotes to provide nodes that meet their storage requirements, such as locations.
In addition, we do strict reference check to review the storage providers that we cooperate with. The check includes periodic offline visits and online maintenance. To ensure that it is compatible with long-term persistent storage so that real data can be stored permanently. Our users can retrieve by information such as data name or data_CID.

How will you be distributing deals across storage providers?

Data is distributed through MatrixStorage platform.

Do you have the resources/funding to start making deals as soon as you receive DataCap? What support from the community would help you onboard onto Filecoin?

Nice to see you on the filecoin network and that the development of your project is going well.

I checked the SP's you are using. They are open for retrieval, but it seems they are fairly centralised and all on the same location.

The 3 of them account for the majority of your datacap spent on the network accounting for almost 1 PB!

Can you please take appropriate measures and store your data in a decentralised way for Fil+ according to the spirit of the network? Fil+ datacap is really not meant to store with one SP or organisation, even if they control multiple Fxxxx numbers.

Hello @cryptowhizzard Thank you for pointing out this problem and give us detail explanation. Matrix Storage is a distributed encrypted storage platform. We have been promoting distributed storage in China, and we have also attracted many clients to use IPFS to store data. Since the second half of last year, some storage providers we cooperated with stopped accepting orders due to policy control, which led to the concentration of data storage. Before that, Matrix Storage had always been storing data according to the Fil+ Rules. Thanks for your reminding. We are very clear about the rules of data storage. Based on our previous agreement with our clients, the first priority now is to help them complete the storage as soon as possible. We have been aware of the problem and we will do our best to overcome the current difficulties. At present, we have contacted several storage providers and are conducting testing and evaluation. It is expected that they will be connected to us around the middle of June. At the same time, we hope that you can understand the policy situations we are facing, and please believe in and look forward to our determination and contribution to promote distributed storage. Look forward to your approval of our application.

Thank you for your detailed explanation and i understand where you are coming from and what the problem is. Like i said, if you need help finding SP's with reputation, open for retrieval and present on different continents, let us know.

"Based on our previous agreement with our clients, the first priority now is to help them complete the storage as soon as possible." I really believe this should not be your priority. Your priority should be that you applied for datacap with an LDN/Fil+ and in order to get new datacap from me I need to be sure that you will store it according to the rules of Fil+ / LDN.

Whenever you are ready to go, give me a ping here so i can propose for a new tranche of datacap.
