Feature: Display Status Center for Ongoing Operations #13560

Open Lukiluc29 opened 10 months ago

Lukiluc29 commented 10 months ago

What feature or improvement do you think would benefit Files?

I believe it would be beneficial to have the status center appear as soon as an operation is initiated, while still allowing the option to close it.

Requirements

Ensure that the status center automatically appears when any operation is launched.

Files Version

2.5.31

Windows Version

10.0.22621.2428

Thanks for the feedback, I've added this to the project board.

Doesn't it already behave like this?

Doesn't it already behave like this?

Currently, when initiating a task, one must manually open it in order to display the task, whereas I'm requesting the ability for it to open automatically upon task launch.

I see, that kind of behavior can be annoying to users (speaking from personal experince) but I'll leave this open for some time to gather additional feedback.

And implement a toggle button to enable or disable the display of the status center in the settings, providing the option for it to appear or not with each task?

that kind of behavior can be annoying to users

Understandable, but the opposite - no clear feedback - can be just as true. As this issue shows.

This is pretty much the only thing I'm missing at the moment. A clear and obvious indicator of file tasks without having to go into action center.
