Bug: Category Display Issue for Cloud Folders in Sidebar #14522

Open Lukiluc29 opened 8 months ago

Lukiluc29 commented 8 months ago

Description

I've noticed an issue where, upon right-clicking on a cloud folder from the sidebar, it displays the category "File System" even when there's nothing shown.

Steps To Reproduce

  1. Right-click on the Cloud drive
  2. Click on properties

Requirements

Maintain a consistent user interface where categories are displayed only when relevant.

Files Version

3.1.4.0

Windows Version

10.0.22631.3007

Log File

No need.

Thanks for the report, I've added this to the project board.

Can you send a screenshot?

@Josh65-2201 do you know what they are referring to?

When opening the Propeties of the cloud folder via the sidebar item it shows the File system part when normally it won't. image image

What it should show

If we are going to display it this way, we should also stop displaying the drive size as pointed out in #10001 and just display the properties as a folder.

I don't have a preference

I believe it is more logical for the cloud disk properties page to be the same as the folder page, which means that all issues related to it will be circumvented, such as incorrect disk size or file system problems.

Is it possible to know the actual size of the cloud drive? If it is, maybe we can just fix the size issue and keep it in the drive style.

It's not easy to implement that. https://github.com/files-community/Files/issues/11326#issuecomment-1433819245
